Need to scope your project

Steel buildings designed for your industrial sites

An industrial building is not just an envelope: it underpins your production operations. Heavy loads, specific equipment, internal flows and operational continuity all have to be anticipated from the earliest studies. Steel Shed for Business designs, engineers, manufactures and delivers custom steel buildings for production, storage, maintenance and industrial activities. Every project is engineered around your process, your equipment and the constraints of your site, whether new-build or extension.

We understand your industrial constraints

An industrial project is not a standard building. Every site has its own equipment, flows and requirements.

Heavy loads & specific equipment

Overhead cranes, machine tools, production lines or suspended equipment: every installation brings its own loads and interfaces. From the technical data supplied, our engineering team incorporates the load paths, anchor points and openings required into the engineering of the steel structure.

Operations that have to keep running

Extending an industrial site that stays in operation calls for careful preparation, so that the works have as little impact on production as possible. Our engineering team anticipates the structural interfaces with the existing building, and we can adapt the manufacturing schedule to suit the arrangements agreed with the customer and the site contractors.

Internal flows to organise

Incoming materials, production, storage and dispatch: the way flows are organised directly shapes the design of the building. From the zoning and requirements set out by your teams, we adapt the structural grid, the openings, the volumes and the access points to make circulation and site operations easier.

Span and height constraints

Production lines, handling equipment and tall machinery impose specific dimensional constraints. Our engineering team adapts the spans, structural grid and clear height beneath the structure to the planned equipment and circulation, based on the technical data approved for the project.

Multi-site projects to manage

Rolling out or upgrading industrial facilities across several locations calls for controlled standardisation. Each site keeps its own constraints (land, access, regulations and operating conditions) while drawing on a shared technical baseline. We coordinate the engineering, manufacturing and deliveries of your multi-site projects through a single dedicated contact.

In-house engineering team

Every project undergoes a full technical study. Our in-house engineering team designs the structure to the applicable Eurocodes, allowing for wind and snow loads and, where required, site-specific seismic actions. Imposed loads, overhead cranes, suspended equipment, anchor points and openings are also accounted for, based on the technical data approved by the customer.

Design assumptions and drawings are approved before manufacturing begins, so that the structure as delivered matches the approved design. The relevant components are manufactured in accordance with the applicable CE marking requirements and receive corrosion protection matched to the project specification.
